Draftly for Beginners: Build Your First 3D Website Today
You do not need to know how to code. You do not need to understand Three.js, WebGL, or any other technology. You need to be able to describe what you want in plain language — the same way you would explain your business to a new employee. Draftly handles everything else.
Before You Start: The 60-Second Brief
Before opening the builder, write down answers to these five questions:
- What does your business do? (One sentence)
- Who is your primary audience?
- What is the one thing you want a visitor to do?
- What visual style do you want? ("dark and premium", "bright and friendly", "minimal and professional")
- What are two or three businesses whose websites you admire? (Optional, but useful)
Your First Prompt
A strong first prompt looks like this:
"Build a 3D website for Draftly, an AI-powered website builder for marketing agencies in India. The primary call to action is a free trial signup. Design it in a dark, premium style — deep navy and black with white text and gold accents. The hero section should feature an animated 3D scene. Include: hero with CTA, key features (3 features), how it works (3 steps), testimonials, and pricing."
Step 1: Open the Builder
Navigate to Draftly's builder, start a new project, paste your prepared prompt, and click Generate. Within 60 seconds, Draftly generates a complete 3D website.
Step 2: Review What Was Built
Before making any changes, spend two minutes exploring the generated site as a visitor would. Scroll through every section. Note down:
- What you like and want to keep
- What needs to change (layout, colours, animations, copy)
- What is missing
Step 3: Refine Through Chat
Use the chat interface to make your first refinements. Focus on the biggest issues first — major structural problems, colour mismatches, or copy that is fundamentally wrong.
Example refinement messages:
- "The hero animation is too fast — slow it down by half"
- "Replace the testimonials section with a Case Studies section showing three client results"
- "The primary blue colour should be #1a3a5c"
Step 4: Edit Your Content
Click directly on any text element to edit it. Replace the AI-generated placeholder copy with your actual content. This is the step most beginners rush or skip. Well-written content on a good 3D design outperforms beautiful 3D on weak content every time.
Step 5: Upload Your Assets
Upload your logo, photographs, and brand colours. Replace placeholder images with your own assets. This single step makes more difference to professional appearance than almost any design change.
Step 6: Check Mobile
Click the Mobile Preview button. Verify text is readable, buttons are large enough to tap, and the 3D scene performs acceptably on mobile.
Step 7: Publish
Click Publish. Draftly deploys your site and provides a live URL. If you have a custom domain, connect it in the Settings panel.
